A tiny surprise horror flash fiction. What can I say - it’s cherry season! This one is contemporary and creepy.

“Cry for me dear, cry…” he sang while waltzing slowly around the chair she was tied up to. And she did. Finally, sweet tears of regret came rolling down her bloodshot eyes, down her cheeks, bathing her cherry lips. Bloody tears left red stains on her white wedding dress.

Oh, how she had laughed! How she rejoiced only a few hours ago, swimming in money! Ten million dollars was the prize for a broken heart and humiliation of a lifetime. He never knew, he never suspected this was all a show. A reality show if you will! But the only reality of it all was a man robbed from his dignity.

She did everything in her power to make him fall in love. The showrunners hid everything all too well. Hidden cameras caught every intimate detail of their “love” and livestreamed it in another continent. They did everything for him to stay unaware about the set-up. Sure, afterward he could sue, but - hey! The more publicity, the better! The showrunners had money to burn. And, oh boy, this shit was hot!

“The big reveal” came at the altar, when he said “yes” with tears of love in his eyes, she replied with a juicy “no” and laughed! She got ten million dollars, while he pissed himself on livestream, with the cameras zooming in on the wet front of his pants.

She was literally swimming in money, cameras followed her victory, but when the party was over, when the cameras stopped rolling, he was waiting. No cameras protected the fake bride at dawn,  lying drunk in the toilet. He took her away, tied to a chair and reminded her just how painful reality is. He waltzed their wedding dance around her, while sweet cherry-coloured tears of regret ran down her eyes.

“Oh, too bad I didn’t catch that on camera, but maybe some things are sweeter when kept in the dark. Your cherry tears are mine and only mine,” he said with an insane grin on his lips.
